I originally just saved this to my personal blog since I didn't feel it was auto-related enough...but since there are no guidelines against it (that I can figure), eh, why not.
Here's a link to her NYT article where she describes her "experience" trying pot-laced chocolate:
Some fun eexcerpts:
But then I felt a scary shudder go through my body and brain. I barely made it from the desk to the bed, where I lay curled up in a hallucinatory state for the next eight hours.
I was panting and paranoid, sure that when the room-service waiter knocked and I didn't answer, he'd call the police and have me arrested for being unable to handle my candy.
I strained to remember where I was or even what I was wearing, touching my green corduroy jeans and staring at the exposed-brick wall.
Maureen, this isn't journalism. This is someone's (well, your) idea of a joke in the form of bad Fear and Loathing fanfiction. It boggles my mind how the NYT can honestly take this assignment and article seriously.
